The one that got away – 230

Part of the 2015 Christmas haul!
Part of the 2015 Christmas haul!

It’s been one of those weeks again where my day job has prevented me from looking further at the DVD I began last week. However, I’ve found a couple of clips from the archives I hope you will enjoy and Mark starts looking at Progeny along with his two pence.

  • What is Progeny actually like?
  • What clips do I come up with?
  • What is Mark’s two pence this week?

Listen to the episode then let me know what you think!

Theme music

The music I use is the last movement of Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite. This has been used as introduction music at many Yes concerts. My theme music is not take from a live concert – I put it together from the following two creative commons sources: thanvannispen and archive.org

Hello Kevin,
I will leave the first comment this week.
Thanks Kevin for playing your review of the Leave It 12″. I’ve seen at my local record store for a while and thought about getting it but after hearing this ….I think I’ll pass…not into the disco beats part of the song. It really just seems like a product made to capitalize on the success of 90125.

Thanks Mark. I’m glad I have the record even if it’s not great. I have a few 12 inches from the 80s and they are very variable in quality!

I think most of what they’ve done since 1983 is them trying to capitalise on their earlier successes 🙂

Hello Mark,
I personally love all the information as a Yes fan since 1969 this is a real joy for me.
For me the more Yes information out their the better it Is for all I believe. In a day where the world follows around people like the Kardashians and I hope I miss spelled them. Now the biggest thing for me is that all I would ever hear on FM radio would be the Yes songs that they would play over and over again All Good People, Long Distance Runaround,Roundabout, it would drive me crazy. So the more stuff they put out there for me is a New State of Mind!
I agree Kevin the More you hear the More you Know..
I love to explore all aspects of there musical journey its what makes Yes great!

Great show as always Kevin and Mark!

Hello Paul,
Thank you for your comments. I totally get it…being able to stay current with events is a good feeling…but I sometimes find I get a little bit of sensory overload..especially on days where there is big Yes news and then there will be other big news from other bands I enjoy…but that may just be me.

Thanks again for your support and hope all is well with you.

Great to meet you at last Kevin and William too. I’m glad you like the poster, have you been able to decipher the signatures yet?
