Theme music

The music I use is the last movement of Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite. This has been used as introduction music at many Yes concerts. My theme music is not take from a live concert – I put it together from the following two creative commons sources: thanvannispen and archive.org

I have mixed feelings about the Hall of Fame. I’m also a Rush fan, and it was fun to see them inducted as part of a late-career critical embrace. It’d be nice to see Yes get a similar appreciation, but the situations are so different. Rush has had the same three members for 40 years, their last studio album was #2 in the USA, and their R:40 tour was a blockbuster. A Yes induction would be messier — how many members of the band’s history would be involved?

But as you rightly say, Yes is not dependent on an outside body for validation of its career and its influence on others.

So induction into the Hall falls into the “nice to have” category for me. Not “must have.”

I’m sure Jon Anderson would turn the situation into a spiritual meditation on not letting our desires get the best of us!

Wishing you, Kevin, and all YMP listeners a New Year filled with peace, joy and positivity.
My own Christmas haul included Open Your Eyes and Talk – two albums I’ve listened to and subsequently ignored. Constant playing in my car will see whether I was correct to do so.
Possibly more interesting was Bill Bruford’s autobiography, which I’m looking forward to reading.
I also received a pair of socks which bear no relation to Yes whatsoever.

Hello Kevin,

Hope you had a great holiday season with the family. Great episode. I especially enjoyed hearing the top 10 album list. Some great choices. Also I’m pleased to hear that you got yourself the Progeny boxset. It’s an awesome package and I still listen to it a lot. Especially the first show. Being that it was recorded in Toronto…i guess I find more interest in it.

Great stuff and looking forward to the next episode which I will listen to right now. Haha…I’m a little behind in my listening.

Mark
