Theme music

The music I use is the last movement of Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite. This has been used as introduction music at many Yes concerts. My theme music is not take from a live concert – I put it together from the following two creative commons sources: thanvannispen and archive.org

Can’t believe I won the YMP quiz! Interesting to hear that Close To The Edge was supposed to look like leather. I could not find that anywhere. Glad to hear the podcast is back on the air and on the web! Hope you and yours are doing well. Happy New Year & Thanks for all you do in supporting my favorite prog band!

Great to hear you are happy, Barry. I am getting things sorted out for your [small] prize but being my usual ridiculously slow self…sorry.

Kevin,

I’m a few weeks behind, and just catching up now I think you quoted me in the quiz on Roy Thomas Baker, but my first name isn’t Ken! 🙂 Having said that, I appreciate the compliment all the same!

Glad to see you back, and hope things are better at home.

Hello Kevin!

I know this reply is well after the original episode, but I’ve been meaning to get around to it and had to confirm that I heard you identify the icebergs in the cover artwork for Drama.

They are not icebergs, they are in fact a perfect rendering of a rock formation at Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park located on Highway 14 just north of Los Angeles.

They have been the setting for many television episodes; my favorites are Star Trek episode Arena (in which Kirk must fight the Gorn) and The Twilight Zone episode The Zanti Misfits (I saw it when I was young and it terrified me for years).

I stumbled upon the park several years ago when I was traveling in that area with my son, and we spent an afternoon there, all the while imagining ourselves in these tv shows, and for my part, running through a Roger Dean landscape.

I encourage you to take a look at the tv episodes I’ve mentioned. I’d like to know what you think!

Hi Steve and thanks for the information! I will indeed take a look at those episodes and see if I can spot the rock formations. Roger Dean borrowing from nature just like so many other classic artists!
