Regarding your 2 pence:
Yes, I agree it would be difficult to do a remote live performance, but they could do something along the lines of what Play For Change does. They record people in locations all over the world and then mix the video and audio for the finished product. Look it up on YouTube or the link below to see what I mean.
Now, what would they play? They could do all of Relayer in place of the tours that got cancelled. But they might not want to play that hand and might want to save it for the future, if they ever get to do that tour.
Another option to record this way would be something I’d mentioned before. What if they took the “good” songs from Tormato and recorded them with the current line up? They could do it as I describe above and it would be something really innovative. Take a new look at them and try to improve rather than recreate.
Another option is to use the time to record or write the new album. This kind of thing can’t be forced, though. And even though they’ve talked about going back into the studio, they might not actually have anything to record. I think that is what happened the last time….and we know how that turned out. (shivers).

I have just enjoyed the whole Buggles album that I hadn’t played for decades.
Yes, well it was only going one way for the tour, however Yes should do something over the net, either individual or in multiples but a full band I can’t see it happening.

Great show again guys. Your podcast ,and music generally . are going to be a great tonic for people as we enter these difficult times.
Mark mentions Yes getting together to perform music virtually but I’m not sure this is practical. Symptoms of the virus can take several days to present themselves and, in some cases, people get the virus with no symptoms . As widespread testing isn’t available, it just wouldn’t be safe for them to get together and play.
Listening to Awaken more than usually now to stay uplifted !

In regards to two pence – Back in the late 90’s Jimmy Page recorded his guitar part for Puff Daddy’s ‘come with me’ live. The rap and basic track were recorded at Record Plant, Hollywood, with a satellite link with CTS Studios, London to allow Page to add guitar live, while he was still touring – If this could be done back then why can’t they do this now?
Another option is like Jon/Ricks ‘the Living Tree’ which they were never together to record – so send the songs around as mentioned in the podcast. I think these guys (in YES) always have tunes in their minds so feel they would have the material and certainly can’t feel rushed this time (as Steve H often claims) with all tours off!
Oh the hope they bring out some new music in these times would be great – although there is some good back log to keep us entertained as we feel close to the edge….
