Interview special 5 – Liam Barnes’ view of Yes in concert

Interview special

It was great to speak to another Yes Fan and Yes Music Podcast listener, Liam Barnes, about the Yes concert in Manchester.

“…someone’s got to be on-side from the press haven’t they?”

Liam is a journalist and has recently produced the following pieces for the Mancunian Matters website:

Yes please! Prog legends return to Manchester

Review: Yes @ Manchester Apollo 13/11/2011

If you have a Yes story you’d like to share, please get in touch – I’d be more than happy to speak to you via Skype!

(Apologies for the sound quality on this interview. Liam’s laptop microphone wasn’t brilliant but I thought it was important to let you hear what he had to say.)

Interview special 4 – Mark Toner’s view of Yes in concert

Yes fanatic – Mark Toner

Yes fan and Yes Music Podcast listener, Mark Toner, was kind enough to speak to me about the Glasgow Yes concert on the current European tour. Despite being a traditionally difficult audience, the concert went down very well, I understand.

G’on yerself Benoit

If you have a Yes story you’d like to share, please get in touch – I’d be more than happy to speak to you via Skype!

Fly From Here promoted in HMV!

Look what I found when I popped into my local HMV the other day:

Fly From Here in HMV
Fly From Here on the shelf but promoted!

Sorry the image is so blurred – I took it very quickly with my ancient mobile phone. It’s great to see that despite financial troubles, HMV still has good taste in music!

Well done HMV!

The text reads (I think):

Fly From Here emcompasses YES’ signature brand of mysticism and grand-scale compositions. Maintaining a complex, symphonic sound that features the beautiful harmonies and strong heavy riffs they are known for.

Slightly odd sentence construction (if I’ve got it right) but I agree with what’s being said!
