Produced by Joseph Cottrell, Jeffrey Crecelius and Ken Fuller
This week we spoke to the generous Peter D’Amore, the longtime Yes fan who spent 7 years making his own ‘Olias’ album, an indie/Prog 2-CD project. We talk about his music, his Yes influences and many aspects of the band including the latest album and the setlist that was played on the warm-up night a couple of days ago.
I’ve embedded several of Peter’s YouTube videos into the show notes including his recent collaboration with Billy Sherwood, so do take a listen to those.
- How did Peter discover Yes?
- How did Peter miss out on playing live with the band?
- Why is Yes so important to him and his wife?
Let us know if you agree with us!

Our (not really) new Facebook YMP Discussion Group is open to anyone to join but I’ll be adding rules and joining requirements when I have time (one day…). One of the advantages of the new format is that all members of the group have the same ability to post content, so it’s a bit more egalitarian, or somesuch. Please do search for the group and join in.

Theme music
The music I use is the last movement of Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite. This has been used as introduction music at many Yes concerts. My theme music is not take from a live concert – I put it together from: archive.org

A nice treat especially for me as I found Peter during my time in the Waukesha/Milwaukee Wisconsin area. He played at my wedding reception!
My first YES concert WITH MY SON was The Ladder tour(with Billy on second guitar). I agree with Mark regarding 80s lineup idea. I recall OOALH at RRHOF induction (also with my dear son) where Steve embraced the bass. This year we see them finally playing from The Ladder, but not Finally :).
Thank you.
Ah! Delighted to hear that! Peter was a great guest.
So Peter D’Amore’s album you’re chatting about came out in 2015?
Yes but the Billy Sherwood version of Flying Part II came out last year and he used the Alan White The Quest drum setup.
Thank you and I listened to the double album and it is excellent, I see why you wanted to interview him. Appreciate all you you do.
