Well, here we are – 14 years and 700 episodes of the Yes Music Podcast. Thank you to Miguel Falcão who has created the new jingles for 700 episodes and thank you to everyone who has sent messages of congratulation. I’ve inserted the audio ones fairly randomly throughout the show but I’ll start with a few written ones. Over on Twitter or X, Oliver Wakeman said, “A fantastic achievement. I’ve been fortunate to be a guest on a number of occasions. Congratulations!” Thank you Oliver. Julio Scissors (@captainjellico) said, “Congrats! Love your show!” and Jon Anderson pic of the day (@JonAndersonpic1) also said, “Congrats!” Thank you both.
As you’ll hear, Mark and I had an enjoyable conversation about a particular Yes 700 topic and then there’s some actual music from Steve Howe. Stay tuned for that!
- What Yes ‘700’ topic have we come up with?
- Who has sent messages of congratulation?
- What Steve Howe music do we play?
A fantastic achievement. I’ve been fortunate to be a guest on a number of occasions.

Huzzah Gents! Many thanks for all the consistent hard work in keeping this beloved group relevant in my life. Long live the Weather Reports!
Hello Mike,
Thank you for your comment. It’s very much appreciated. Haha ..and fear not…the weather report will live on!!

The show I saw during the MASTERWORKS tour in Chicago (show #1738 on July 8, 2000) had only seven songs in the setlist.

Congratulations. What an incredible achievement.
John Martyn came from folk but was a truly progressive artist. I would recommend One World, Solid Air and Live At Leeds (Original version not the bastardised Deluxe version that came.out a decade.or so back). Martyn was a bit of a a self sabboteur but was also a real sonic adventurer especially in a trio format with Danny Thompson and John Stevens. As adventurous as any King Crimson line up. He stretched what one can do with an acoustic guitar to new frontiers.
His 80s work was in many ways an attempt to follow his mate Phil Collins into the charts and much of the work pushing at musical frontiers was set aside.
If you stick to the 70s you wont go far wrong.
There is an especially good solo show filmed by OGWT in early 77 filmed at the Collegiate Theatre in London (I was there!). Might be the place to start.
Was actually January 78 not 77. Apologies.
Congratulations gentleman!! Here’s to 700 more!
I have been traveling, so I’ve gotten a bit behind, but I would be remiss not to issue a hearty congratulations on an amazing achievement! Hitting 700 episodes is a staggering feat, and you have managed to consistently keep them interesting, informative, and entertaining. Well done, Kevin and Mark!
I’m sorry that I failed to get a recorded message for you, but as one of the Five Percenters that can claim to have listened to ALL 700 EPISODES, and appeared in a couple of them, I feel I’ve done my bit. Instead, I will wait until episode #866 which should be all about me and my FIRST Yes concert on August 17, 1976. I know this, because it is on my 2026 calendar…. 🙂
Seriously, congratulations on this landmark! Here’s to at least 166 more!
