This week, Mark and I spoke to Chris Clark, thanks to YMP Patron, Mark Lang who put us in touch with him. We asked Chris about his experiences working with Jon Anderson and the Band Geeks live and in the studio. Now a veteran of approaching 100 concerts with the Yes co-founder, we were keen to know what it’s been like, how it came about, how the first album, True, was born and what the future might hold for the collaboration. If you listen carefully, I think you might be able to pick up some tantalising clues as to what the forthcoming second album might be like and we had a great time getting to know Chris. I will be seeing him with Jon Anderson and the Geeks in September so I am looking forward to that.

The whole story is one of a dream world for the guys. For The fan it is just a joy that we get to see Jon perform at a high level, surrounded by seriously good musicians, keen to please, and love Yes music.
A new album is good news too, as True was excellent. All in all, Jon and some Geeks is something to celebrate, and I shall be doing just that for the UK tour. See you then.
Enjoyed this interview very much. Saw them live in June 2024 in New Jersey, USA. The band was tight and expertly cared for all the little nuances of Yes music. Kudos to all of them for reproducing the music literally note for note. I would have loved to find out from Chris if he had any contact with Rick Wakeman regarding reproducing any of the music live. Jon and Rick were/are on good terms (I think) and always wondered if Jon volunteered Rick to assist, if Chris needed anything. From the band geek videos prior to syncing up with Jon, Chris already had it mastered and likely didn’t need any help, but always thought that would have been cool!
Chris is a fun guy. It does take a bit to follow him as he talks faster than most. I met him at ProgStock last Oct., where I introduced him to Larry Fast, whom I’ve known since first meeting him with Peter Gabriel on his ’77 US tour. I’ll meet Chris again in Oct. at ProgStock, where The Band Geeks guitarist Andy Graziano will be performing on Oct. 8, opening for Nektar.
