The one hundred and sixty-ninth episode of the Yes Music Podcast featuring the debut album from pre-Yes band, Mabel Greer’s Toyshop. I am interviewing Clive Bayley from the band next week – and hopefully Bob Hagger as well.
How interesting is this album to Yes fans?
What do the two Yes tracks sound like?
What do Billy Sherwood and Tony Kaye add?
Listen to the episode and then let me know what you think!
It’s half term in the UK this week so there won’t be an episode. However, I have just received a review copy of the new Mabel Greer’s Toyshop album which I will be reviewing next week. Thanks for listening!
Described by the publicity company (which is incidentally the same one as Yes use themselves) as the ‘Pre-YES psychedelic-prog outfit’, Mabel Greer’s Toyshop are currently in the process of releasing a selection of album teasers on YouTube each Monday and Friday in the lead up to the release of their album, ‘New Way of Life’, on 9th March 2015.
‘Electric Funeral’ will be available to download and on iTunes as what they term an ‘instant gratification track’ for everyone who pre-orders ‘New Way of Life’.
Also, there will be a series of brief interviews with founder members, Clive Bayley and Bob Hagger. on YouTube each Monday and Friday, in the lead up to the release of the album. Here are the first two:
I am hoping to interview members of the band for the podcast in February or March so watch this space!
