Plans for 2012

New Year 2012

After a fantastic first four months of the Yes Music Podcast, here is a very short episode for the New Year, with a few ideas I’m thinking of developing in 2012.

Please let me know what you think of the ideas.

I hope you all have a great 2012 and thanks so much for listening and getting involved in 2011!

Apologies that the sound quality is not as good as usual. I need to do a lot more experimenting with the new set up!

Normal service will resume next week, barring unforeseen circumstances…

What are your Yes music champagne moments?

Nominate your champagne moments!

Over the coming holiday period, I won’t have time to record the usual album episodes. What I’d like to do instead is create a couple of episodes made up of what you regard as the best moments of Yes music – the moments which remind you why you love listening to Yes – your ‘champagne moments’.

I’d like as many YMP listeners as possible to submit their ideas by Tuesday 13th December through any one of the following routes:

  • Leave a comment on this blog post
  • Ring the voice mail number (on the right) and leave a message
  • Send an email to show@yesmusicpodcast.com
  • Upload an audio file to the new ‘GoAruna’ site (click the link on the right) – please make this .wav or .mp3 (44100Hz and 128bps if you understand this stuff)
You can submit as many champagne moments as you like but I might have to select one or two if lots of people get involved – as I hope they will!

Please get involved!

Interviewed on Twilight Guitar!

MJ Murphy's great site

MJ Murphy was the first interviewee on the Yes Music Podcast Interview Specials.

He recently returned the favour and was kind enough to interview me for his own podcast, which is part of his fantastic Twilight Guitar website.

Not only is Mike a brilliant teacher and guru of all things guitar, he’s also a talented blogger, podcaster and one of the most generous people you could hope to meet.

So make sure you listen to the interview on his site, sign up for his podcast and then take a look at the rest of what Mike has done – it’s all great!

Episode 11 – ‘Drama’

The eleventh episode of the Yes Music Podcast featuring the tenth studio album, ‘Drama’.

Vinyl purchased circa. 1989, CD circa. 2005 (click to enlarge)
  • Is this really Yes?
  • Two changes in line-up – what’s the difference?
  • Do the Buggles mean pop?

Listen and see if you agree with me then let me know by leaving a comment or contacting me via the different routes on the right hand side!
